"... two great big size 13 shoe prints on the ass, and a bitch slap that came out of the sun so you couldn't see it coming!"

God and baby Jesus!!!!! What a great show last night, I had to come home and fill the tub with as much cold water and ice as I could find, so I could soak my ass from the non-stop butt kicking 7july served up at the Comeback Lounge! At first I thought it might have just the effects of the paint fumes I was breathing before going to the show, but I don't think that every body in the place was painting before heading out last night, let me give you a little 411 of the goings on.

First of all the "comeback lounge" is a notorious biker bar, not the kind of place you would expect modern rock to be tolerated. Oh, well ! You can just throw that notion right in the old crapper, and don't forget to flush, because lets face it, even though it really feels good while your doing it, it's just not a pretty thing to look at! The beer, I’m very happy to say, "a icy oasis in a summer of desert like conditions"! The crowd, a homemade stew of fun, a few of the old faithful, a pinch of friends of friends, a smidgen of the regulars and of course the meat "bikers and their babes"! Let me tell you some of those babes were looking quite tasty!

Oh yeah, the band was in top form! I guess that little tongue lashing from the Fiddler's show really hit the bone, because they didn't just kick it up a notch "BAM", they took it to a whole new level "KA-BOOM"!!!!!! They started the show with Green Day's "Hitchin' a Ride", just to get the juices flowing! From there on out it was one after another, Fuel, Tonic, Alice In Chains, Eve 6, Matchbox 20, Sublime, Pearl Jam, Jimmy's Chicken Shack (my moshin' favorite "High"), Everlast, Blink 182, Sugar Ray, Cake (with audience participation from myself, and "pinhead", Sheep Go To Heaven!) Who's "pinhead" you might be asking? Well, she's the freaky little biker chick who, (deep breath) had more holes in her body than swiss cheese, didn't stop dancing and moshin' around, knew all the words to all the songs, felt up her man on the dance floor, looked like she was about to start doin' the big nasty (much to the dismay of the crowd), not much to look at, but by the end of the night, you kind of was glad she was there type person! Pinhead said she used to be in a band called "Sonic Youth", I've heard the name, but can't place it with any songs, can anyone help me with this one?

The guy's in the band were having a lot of fun also, this type of show was right up their alley! Carl was even seen on the opposite side of the stage (I do believe that is the seventh sign!). I know Jim was having fun, every chance he got to make some kind of weird noise during a song he made the most of it! Mike was even seen smiling on stage! Craig was his usual self, sitting in the back beatin' it, making faces, stepping on Carl's guitar!

Well if you couldn't be at Woodstock that night, this was the next best thing to be doin'. They were so good that the manager of the bar asked when they could come back, they said September, the manager said I'm booked up for September, and then actually bumped another band out to get them back as soon a possible!

Well on the Hoooochieeee MaaaaaMaaaaa scale of 7july shows, I'd give it "two great big size 13 shoe prints on the ass, and a bitch slap that came out of the sun so you couldn't see it coming"! If this sounds like your idea of a good time, get in touch with these guy's so the can come kick your asses too!

See ya' at the Downtown Cafe,
